|
Our Spanish language school in Santiago de Compostela was founded in 1994. The school is very centrally located at a 2-minute walk from the historic district of the city, very close to the Cathedral. It is a small, family-like school managed directly by the owners.
The school in Santiago offers 6 classrooms and an area with 11 computers with free Internet access for students. Furthermore, there is wi-fi connection available in all the facilities.
Our school is a foundation member of AGAES, the Galician Association of Schools of Spanish and an Accredited Centre by Instituto Cervantes.
All our teachers are native speakers who have finished their university education. With a great deal of experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language, they can use a variety of teaching methods and materials, always according to the students needs. Many of them speak several languages and have teaching experience in other countries. Therefore, they perfectly understand the difficulties of learning a foreign language.

Santiago de Compostela & Activities
|
|
There are many reasons to choose Santiago for your language travel.
It is small: 90,000 inhabitants and 45 minutes on footfrom side to side. It is also quiet and welcoming. Santiago is a very safe city, with one of the lowest crime-rates in Spain. Walking in the streets, even late at night, is very safe. It is friendly. Locals love spending their time in the street: tapas at noon, a good time at a café in the historic district, sun-bathing at the Quintana Square or listening to the Banda Municipal de Música (City Council Music Band), on Sundays in Rúa do Vilar.
The city offers high quality services, as it is the administrative capital of Galicia and the Seat of the Autonomic Government. It houses one of the oldest Universities in Spain (35,000 students every year) and it is the end of the Camino de Santiago (Saint James Way). It is not only a centre of religious pilgrimages, but also a young and fun city as a third of its population is composed of university students.
It has a year-long entertainment and cultural offer, with annual programmes in the Auditorio de Galicia (Auditorium), in theatres, in museums or in the streets and squares of the old town. In certain periods this offer becomes even more intense: Cineuropa in November; conciertos of different types during the Apostle celebrations in July and during the Ascensión festivities in May; traditional celebrations in the streets in San Juans night in June (22nd to 23rd); open-air dance festival in June.
The origins of the city date back to 10th century. It is a beautiful city with a great artistic and historic value. It is a UNESCOs World Cultural Heritage, as it is the Way that leads there, and with one of the largest and best preserved historic districts in Spain. It is surrounded by a large group of easy-access parks and green areas, all of them very well integrated in the city.
In Santiago, especially in certain periods of the year, there are many things to do or to see: concerts in all the historic district squares during the summer, many of which are free; museums, also free, as the Etnográfico del Pueblo Gallego (Galician People Ethnographic Museum); all kind of exhibitions… We will inform the students about everything happening in Santiago.
Furthermore, our school of Spanish in Santiago de Compostela organizes at least 2 free activities weekly. In the summer the average is of 4 activities a week:

This activity is carried out if there are at least 5 students beginning the course. ● Visits to museums, exhibitions, historic buildings. ● Attending to concerts, cinema, theatre… ● Commented movies. ● Spanish music samplings. ● Language exchanges with Spanish students. ● Afternoons of popular Spanish games (cards, table games) ● Traditional nights, with folk music and typical traditional beverages. ● Visit to the editorial office of the city newspaper El Correo Gallego.
There are other activities for an additional fee: ● Excursions to the beach, to the Atlantic Isles National Park, to fishing villages, to other cities like Vigo, A Coruña or Pontevedra, to historic places, to Northern Portugal… ● Spanish cooking workshop. ● Trekking around the city. ● Tasting wines and typical products.
